“Although we were in marriage ministry at the time, we had no idea how much our 3,000 mile relocation from California to Florida was going to impact our own relationship. Although Clint had moved dozens of times, I had lived in the same place for over 40 years. He was excited to head out on our new adventure and I sobbed all the way across the United States! When our friends suggested Susan’s book, we eagerly purchased a copy. Her suggestions and stories helped us both to understand some of the feelings we were going through and gave us some healthy ways to overcome our obstacles together.”

This book is fabulous!
We have moved 13 times in our nine years of marriage and it's still difficult for us. This book helped explain and validate feelings we've had about moving. It helped me accept that God created me to be relational and the grief I experience each time I leave a dear friend is natural. I plan on having several copies of this on hand to give to every new military wife I meet. BUY IT! You won't be disappointed!

Great support for uprooted women!
If you're feeling disconnected after moving, this is the book for you. It deals with the grief of leaving beloved friends & churches behind & gives advice on how to "bloom where you are planted"! We've moved 5 times in 10 years of marriage, & I wish I"d had this book since the beginning. Moving is still hard, but with this book & God's help, it is easier!

This was a source of encouragement
as I realized in the rush to move the family across 3,000 miles and help the kids adjust to thier new life I had forgotten to take care of... me! This helped me come to terms with feelings that my have been tucked underneath the surface and gave me great ideas on how to reconnect. It also affirmed me in that what I was feeling was a normal part of the moving process and gave me insight on how I could move on in my new community. I have benefited from the encouragement in this book so much, that I now send it to any friend or family member that has moved as part of their house-warming gift! Simply a wonderful book!

My husband purchased this book
for me because I was having trouble accepting an upcoming move. At first I was hesitant because, after moving so many times, what else was there for me to learn? I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. It is a very easy read, and the author makes you feel as if she's speaking directly to you, understanding your fears and frustrations. This book can be especially helpful for someone facing their first move. For me, it was a definite plus.
