Georgia
Lissette, an Army wife

I would like to have all the answers soon, but I'm trusting...

I heard Susan Miller on the radio almost 9 years ago and wrote the title of her book down, but never got it.  When my sister-in-law asked me this past Christmas what I wanted I said, "Susan Miller's book, After the Boxes are Unpacked."  I'm just about done with it and have to tell you what a blessing it has been to me!!!!

My husband is an ARMY chaplain.  When we first came in the ARMY it was fun to move around.  But now, with 3 little ones, I'm finding it to be emotionally, physically, and spiritually draining.  We moved to Georgia when my 3rd child was only 7 weeks.  Six months later, my husband left for a 15-month deployment to Iraq.  He will be back from Iraq this April and we are to move in early June to South Carolina for more chaplain school.  That move will only be 6 months long and then we move again just before Christmas.  Location will be unknown to us until this fall.

I agree, there is so much I enjoy about moving, but so much I don't like as well.  I"ve been journaling a lot and submitting everything before the Lord as I have been reading Susan’s book and His Word.  This morning, I was reading Susan’s words in chapter 16, "...give yourself a big HUG from me...you are going to be all right...I believe in you...I am confident in who you are...you are going to make it...you have already come this far...you are a different person from the inside out...you have taken the time to examine your life, to address your heart, and to get a new perspective on your move."  Can I say THANK YOU for your love, encouragement, and affirmation!

I have been meditating on some of my favorite verses day in day out (Philippians 4:13, Philippians 4:6-7, 1 Peter 5:7, Lamentations 3:22-23, and Psalm 23).  The Lord continues to give me His peace and is guiding me through many decisions that I face during this move (what part of town should we live in, what home school group should I join, etc).  I can trust Him because He loves me and has never failed us.  I would like to have all the answers soon, but I'm trusting that His timing will be perfect.  I am embracing this move and thanking God already for how He has stretched me and is again teaching me to depend on Him.  He is really my stability and is all-sufficient.  I'm continuing to pray that as the heat gets turned up and the dates get closer, that I will continue to rest in Him.

I look forward to meeting Susan some day.  My pastor's wife got to meet Susan in person at the PWOC there and was so blessed by her book and speaking.
