The title of this article may seem pretty empty to those of us that do feel like we are alone much of the time. Things in our lives have changed. The kids are no longer around making messes, talking on the phone, bringing in their friends and emptying the refrigerator out. For some reason or another we don’t have a spouse to talk with or find comfort in. We are just pretty much on our own. Though we work inside and outside of the home there just seems to be something lacking in our lives. I know the feeling well and I fight it constantly.
Today was such a gorgeous pre-fall day! It would have been a great time to be with someone to share the day with. I called everyone I knew and tried to entertain myself, but I soon got tired of me. I happened to pick up an article that reminded me that we are never alone. God is always with us, loving us and loving us. Though it may seem that God is so far away and untouchable, we can only look at the blue of the sky to see his creation. We can feel the winds and know of his touch. We can look in the face of those we love and realize we are never really alone.
I pray for the peace that I know God wants us to have. He feels our every heartache and he tastes our tears as they fall like raindrops. We may be able to fake our peace and happiness to others, but God knows that we are hurting and he loves us so much that he spends special time trying to comfort us.
I love God and I believe that he loves me. I don’t understand many things that have happened in my life and in the lives of those I love, but I know that ultimately it will all work out. Why do I know? Because he told me so. That is where faith has to be put into action.
This is for all my sisters in the Lord who are hurting tonight. They are struggling and they have so many unanswered questions that may not be answered on this earth. Just remember when the sad times come we are never really alone. God is there and he waits for us to reach out to him in faith and humbleness and admit we are lonely. Only he can comfort us.
